]]> Tomb Raider: The Dark Angel Symphony is a music album by Peter Connelly. The album includes 3 remastered CDs with the original music from Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider 5: Chronicles and Tomb Raider 6: The Angel of Darkness. In addition, there’s a 4th CD with brand new / reimagined tracks arranged by Dr Richard Niles and featuring other big names like Tina Guo, Julie Elven and Pete MIXMASTER Hammond. The music album was crowdfunded on kickstarter and for a while you could buy digital assets from the official shop. The Dark Angel Symphony included not only music in its core but some incredible artworks, T-shirts, posters and brand-new lore from the Tomb Raider universe, for example a Kurtis Trent diary written by Murti Schofield.

The shop has closed down quite a while back. To ensure all the creative assets are preserved and accessible to those who missed out on the Dark Angel Symphony we archived all the digital assets in one place for you.

*The easiest way to see and listen to content on 5.1 DVD is to download VLC, download the “The angel of Darkness 5.1 surround ost” archive (links below) and extract it. Launch VLC, click MEDIA = > Open Folder. Navigate to where you extracted the surround ost archive.

Installation:

Steam/GoG version:

  1. Get the latest release 
  2. unzip the archive and copy over the contents to you TR4 folder, overwrite when prompted.
  3. Enjoy!

CD version:

  1. Open your TR4 CD in file explorer to view its contents.
  2. Copy over the listed files into the folder you have TR4 installed:
  • Entire audio folder
  • Entire data folder
  • Entire fmv folder
  • SCRIPT.DAT
  • <language.dat> (whichever language your game version is in, typically English.dat or US/UK.dat
  1. Get the latest release package that says “exe + dll”
  2. unzip the archive and copy over the contents to you TR4 folder, overwrite when prompted.
  3. Enjoy!

New options menu:

accessible through the title options menu/pause options menu

1. FootPrints:

  • Toggles footprints on and off.

2. Shadow Mode:

Determines shadow shape

  • Original: Original octagon shape.
  • Circle: A flat semi-transparent circle.
  • PSX: A faded circle similar to the shadow present in the PSX version.

3. Crawl Tilting:

  • Toggles Lara tilting while crawling on sloped surfaces. video

4. Flexible crawling:

  • Toggles more responsive crawling with less freezes in Lara’s moveset.

5. Fix climb up delay:

  • Fixes the 1 second delay for Lara’s ledge climb up.

6. Gameover menu:

  • Toggles a PSX-like gameover menu after Lara dies.

7. Bar Mode:

Determines the mode of the bars.

  • original: original TR4 bars.
  • TR5: TR5 bar colors.
  • PSX: PSX bar colors.

8. Bar Positions:

Changes the positions of the bars on the screen.

  • original: original PC TR4 positions. 

  • improved: same as original but flips the positions of the air and dash bar. 

  • PSX: PSX bar positions. 

9. Enemy bars:

  • Toggles the enemy health bar on and off.

10. Cutscene skipper:

  • Toggles the cutscene skipper. (Keep in mind, normal flybies are not cutscenes!) Skip cutscenes using the ESC button.

11. Cheats:

Toggles ingame cheats on and off.

  • DOZY: Flycheat. During DOZY, pressing Action emits a strong white light, and pressing Roll turns Lara around faster than directional buttons.
  • HEAL: Inventory cheat. Face north and select the savegame item. Fills Lara’s healthbar.

The rest lists the original cheats

  • HELP: Inventory cheat. Face north and select the loadgame item. Skips the level.
  • BITS: Inventory cheat. Face north and select the large-med item. gives all items/keys present in the level.
  • GUNS: Inventory cheat. Face north and select the small-med item. gives all weapons and unlimited ammo.

12. Loading text:

Toggled the loading text in loading screens.

13. mono screen style:

Determines the style of the inventory/pause menu background.

  • original: original black and white.
  • TR5: The TR5 yellow-ish style.
  • Clear: Clear game screen as is, no color modification.

14. loadbar style:

Determines the style of the loading bar in the loading screens.

  • TR4: original big bar, like TR4.
  • TR5: small TR5 bar.

15. look transparency:

Toggles Lara going transparent when looking around.

16. ammo counter:

Toggles a weapon ammo counter on and off.

17. ammotype hotkeys:

Toggles the hotkeys that change the ammotypes. While having a weapon with multiple ammotypes equipped (eg. shotgun), tap its hotkey and the ammotype will change, and a text notification with the new ammotype will pop up on the screen.

18. combat cam tilt:

Toggles the camera slightly tilting up when taking out weapons.

19. Inv healthbar:

Toggles the healthbar appearing in the inventory when looking over the medipacks.

20. static lighting:

Toggles static lighting.
