A short film made for the Tomb Raider III launch party which
was held in the Natural History Museum (the setting of the Lud’s Gate level in
TR3).
Eidos hired a production team to produce this short film
about an obsessive fan who thought that Lara was real.
The original idea was to record a number of famous people
talking about how good the game was “…but the production company they hired told them that the journalists wouldn’t
connect with that and would be less inclined to write about it… The
video also included the first ever in-game clip that was produced solely for
advertising purposes… When the event started, they showed press the video and
then the guy in it was carted out through the Natural History museum by guards.”
