I barely reblog, but this one just perfectly describes my feelings. I don’t plan to downgrade from my 2.5k laptop to a console that hardly supports a full HD even. Not even that, I just don’t like playing games on consoles. I own a PS3 which I hardly ever play or ever played for that matter. I really wish Crystal Dynamics would finally learn how to work with their own fanbase…
I never really voice my opinion about matters going on with the Tomb Raider series on here very often, due to having backlash on Tomb Raider forums for doing so, but screw it, I’m going to write a bit of an opinion piece today, because, let’s face it, this exclusitivity deal is REALLY riling me up.
Before reading and watching this Game Informer article here I’ve made a decision as to how I’m going to treat this whole exclusivity bullshit. I am not buying an XBONE just to play ONE game. I’m sure most of you are aware that I’m a proud owner of a PlayStation 4. There are many games I would play on the PS4, hence why I bought that console. I did previously have an XBOX 360 but I felt that some of the titles on that console were lacking. I never even expected in my widest dreams that Tomb Raider would become in the exclusive zone, hence why I bought a PS4. IF I had of known earlier, I probably would have bought and XBONE. But I didn’t.
So what am I going to do? I’m not falling for Square and Microsoft’s sweet talk and bullshit. I am not going to buy Rise of the Tomb Raider until it gets a muti-platform release. I am going to instead, watch a Let’s Player play the entirety of the game and support them, not greedy companies only using a franchise name for profit. Seriously, many Let’s Players need support, so why the fuck not. I still want to see how that story and game play plays out, but there is in no way I’m supporting this stupid decision.
A lot of people have the mindset that this is the way of today’s gaming industry and tell me to “deal with it”. I reply back that it’s sad, because Tomb Raider has always been a multi platform game since it’s origins. A lot of fans, including myself, will not be able to play Rise of the Tomb Raider, and it saddens me that this will all be happening on the year of Tomb Raider’s 20th Anniversary. It seems so cruel.
So if your planing on Let’s Playing this game, let me know! I’d rather support you than greedy companies set disappointing and screwing people over. Like seriously Microsoft and Sqaure, especially you Square, get yo’ shit together. You don’t wanna screw with Tomb Raider fans anymore, because you already have.
